It is complex to care for elderly family members. This requires a coordinated approach. The Harvard University Asia Center's Global Initiative on Caregiving for the Elderly was established in July 2016. It seeks to increase knowledge and encourage engagement between key stakeholders. It aims to understand the complex nature of family care for elderly people in low- and middle-income countries and to find promising practices that will improve the quality of life in all age groups. The program has three major focus areas: individual and family care, programming for the community, and development of social policies.
Relationship between bargaining force and bargaining capacity

In this paper, we examine the effect of bargaining power on family care for the elderly. We also look at heterogeneity and bargaining powers of family members to see if there is any.
